Spud planting at Seer Green School
We were absolutely delighted to spend the afternoon with Reception and Years 1&2 at Seer Green School last week. Each child got a bucket, planted a seed potato and are now waiting anxiously for them to grow! We are going to be back for a big weigh-in just before the end of term. There are prizes for each child in all year groups, whose bucket contains the heaviest amount of spuds.
The children were so great - really keen and excited to be growing and we are thrilled that we were able to sponsor the whole event. We did get a strange reaction and some very funny looks when we collected 90 buckets from Screwfix! The logistics of getting the compost delivered was complex, but excellent organisation meant that we were only there for the afternoon.
Look out for photos of the weigh in in late July
